TENSI Firewood Kiln
A type of traditional pine wood-fired kiln used for over 1,000 years to produce China’s most exquisite porcelain. Unlike modern gas or electric kilns, it relies solely on hand-fed firewood to reach temperatures exceeding 1,300°C (2,372°F), creating unique, irreproducible glaze effects that cannot be replicated by machines.

UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage
Jingdezhen’s traditional wood-fired kilns(柴窑chái yáo) represent the pinnacle of Chinese porcelain craftsmanship, blending ancient science, natural alchemy, and cultural spirituality.
- Egg-shaped "Zhen Kiln": The world’s only self-supporting pine-wood structure
- 108 Observation Ports: Masters judge temperature by flame color (accuracy ±3℃).
- Exclusive Fuel: Only masson pine
- Natural Glaze Effects: "Flame marks" (火痕) and rainbow crystals from mineral deposits.
- Cobalt Fusion: Wood-fired blue-and-white penetrates 0.5mm into the clay, unlike gas kilns.
- Moon-Phase Firing: Kilns loaded on new/full moons for optimal air pressure.
